Ive tried running it as administrator and in pretty much every compatibility mode there is, but I cant load the game.

The Autorun.exe file from the CD opens and blares the fanfare in my ears, I can open the map and campaign editors, but when I try to click Play the autorun screen just disappears and nothing happens.

I tried uninstallingreinstalling on different drives, making an image of my Play disk (which failed multiple times), loading with every compatibility setting, loading with forced single-monitor, loading with lower color settings, loading as administrator, loading from both my Blu-ray and DVD drives, loading while performing voodoo, and yeah absolutely nothing worked.

So I went to gog.com, parted with 10, and it worked on the first attempt.

Go figure. I may have to follow urevesvans advice and frame my hard copy.
